Crazy as the world is the buying team are off to the huge European fair in Cologne to look at the ‘new’ products for 2008. It is a lovely time to go and the industry is full of very pleasant people as you would expect in nursery land. This makes it all the more pleasant and it means another weekend of our personal lives dnated to working.

The trade fairs always take place on a weekend and the flights to Cologne are already booked with the teams headed out from Mothercare, Boots, Toys R Us and of course the gang from Perfectly Happy People.

On the flights we all catch up on the gossip, who has had a baby, who has got married, who got unmarried, who switched jobs. Once we get there it is serious work pounding around the massive exhibition halls. It is very international and everyone is there.

We see more and more Chinese and Indian manufacturers every year and in many ways it is quite sad to think our manufacturing is moving overseas. But costs count and customers want the best item for the cheapest price. Our job is to get that for you.
